Assistant Housekeeping Manager – Cape Town
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a detail-oriented and professional Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join a prestigious luxury boutique hotel based in Cape Town . The ideal candidate will be passionate about maintaining exceptional standards and delivering outstanding guest experiences within a refined hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Maintain guest rooms and public areas to the highest luxury standards.
Supervise daily housekeeping operations, staff schedules, and workflow.
Assist with the recruitment, training, and mentoring of housekeeping staff, fostering excellence and engagement.
Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Manage inventory, supplies, and budgets efficiently, reducing waste and maintaining cost-effectiveness.
Implement and promote sustainable housekeeping practices throughout the property.
Demonstrate consistent attention to detail, promptly report maintenance issues, and ensure property standards are upheld at all times.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience :
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Assistant Housekeeping Manager or in a similar role, preferably within a luxury hospitality environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills with a hands-on approach.
Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Sound knowledge of housekeeping SOPs, luxury standards, and health and safety protocols.
Commitment to delivering quality, guest satisfaction, and sustainable practices.
Excellent verbal communication skills in English.
Physically capable, including the ability to walk up and down stairs.
Impeccable grooming and uniform standards.
Strong active listening skills and guest service orientation.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in Opera Property Management System (PMS).
Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting and scheduling.
Package :
Salary : R20,000 – R25,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience.
