Senior Data Manager
, you'll lead the way in shaping how data drives strategy, growth, and performance across a dynamic group of companies. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll turn complex commercial, customer, and industry data into clear insights that influence decision-making at the highest level.
You'll own the data vision—building modern platforms (warehouse, lake, cloud), driving innovation with AI / ML, and ensuring data is secure, scalable, and business-ready. Working closely with executives and stakeholders, you'll have a direct hand in guiding strategy through data.

Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of data professionals, (Data Analysts, Data Engineers) fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous learning, improvement, and innovation.Structure the team and mentor and guide members to enhance their skills and promote knowledge-sharing across the department.Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development to build a high-performing data team.Work closely with Commercial, Operations, and Sales teams to understand data needs and translate them into actionable solutions.Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the company's broader business objectives.Ensure that the data strategy drives the company's long-term vision, particularly in areas like energy trading, customer behaviour analysis, and pricing strategies.Integration and Management of Diverse Data Types : Oversee the integration of commercial data, customer data, and industry-specific data (including meter readings (data flows) and energy consumption metrics).Manage the end-to-end integration, modelling, and analysis of these data streams, ensuring seamless data flow across the organisation.Ensure that all data sources are harmonised to create comprehensive, actionable business insights.Advanced Data Modelling & Algorithm Development : Lead the creation, optimisation, and deployment of data models and algorithms, with a focus on both real-time and historical data.Drive the development of predictive models and analytical frameworks to forecast market trends, customer behaviours, and energy demand.Working with Commercial Analysts and Product owners, build and implement algorithms that drive dynamic pricing, energy demand forecasting, and strategic decision-making.Data Warehouse & Data Lake Management : Take ownership of the company's data warehouse and data lake architecture, ensuring they are designed for scalability, performance, and alignment with business goals.Oversee the integration of diverse datasets into the data warehouse and data lake, ensuring data quality, integrity, and accessibility.Leverage Microsoft Fabric and other relevant technologies to optimise these data environments for efficient processing and real-time analytics.Business Intelligence & Reporting : Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and BI reports that provide key stakeholders, including senior leadership (CEO, Board members), with actionable insights.Ensure that the data-driven insights are easily accessible and presented in a clear, concise manner to support critical decision-making.Collaborate with leadership to identify key metrics and KPIs to measure business performance and guide long-term strategies.Data Governance & Security : Ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of all data systems, adhering to industry standards for data governance and information security.Implement and enforce data governance frameworks that protect sensitive commercial, customer, and industry data.Manage data and reporting capabilities.Champion the adoption of new tools and methodologies, including machine learning, advanced analytics, and AI, to uncover insights that were previously hidden.Operational Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Law, MIS, Information Management, or related fieldCertifications such as CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional) or CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager) would be a significant advantageExperience :
3-5 years in the financial services industry supporting or leading data privacy / regulatory programmes, processes, or practicesOR experience in a compliance-related role with strong exposure to data privacyExperience working across multiple business units or in complex, matrixed environments is highly desirableSkills & expertise
