Shipping Controller

Job descriptionAccurately complete veterinary certificates and other required documentation. Book and manage vessel space allocations efficiently. Capture customer information and deliver port documentation. Liaise with cold stores regarding container bookings and stock availability. Ensure proper administration of all port documents. Maintain compliance with standards such as HACCP, GMP, Occupational Health & Safety, and operational SOPs. Perform ad hoc tasks as required to support the shipping department.
Location : Cape Town, South Africa
Requirements :
- Minimum : Matric with additional qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 35 years experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or import / export control.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with shipping systems.
- Knowledge of South African Customs regulations, EDI, SAD 500, VOC, export documentation, and cargo dues.
- Experience in shipping or freight environment is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, including weekends and overtime.
