IS&T Support Function
Provide an effective IS&T support function for all departments of the company.
SPECIFIC OUTCOMES :
- Responsibilities :
- Attend all aspects of the IS&T support function for all South Africa branches, as well as the Botswana & Namibian offices.
- Authority :
- Control access to the computerized systems, obtain program modifications where necessary, create and modify user profiles and licensing for software, manage access to VoIP system and modifications, as well as ensure that each user’s individual access meets his / her professional requirements, within the parameters of the system.
- Duties :
- Responding to technical support calls from end users of computers and software applications.
- Taking ownership of customer issues reported and seeing problems through to resolution. Supporting employees with any IS&T challenges that may arise.
- Researching, diagnosing, reporting, troubleshooting, and identifying solutions to resolve system issues.
- Following standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams.
- Raise tickets for issues that need to be escalated to the Corp IS&T Support Team on VeoNow (Ticketing Platform).
- Identify all Information Technology needs within the company (Southern Africa) and ensure that these are met.
- Communicate with users on IS&T related requests.
- Set up computers and printers, including installing Windows, anti-virus, additional software programs, and deployment and redeployment of Chromebooks.
- Assist in installation of new network equipment (Firewalls / Switches / Cables / WiFi AP’s) and any other technical issues.
- Install and configure computer hardware / software / systems / networks / data backups / MFP.
- Upgrade and repair all company computers (Chrome OS / Windows OS / Linux OS) and the company's LAN / WAN as necessary. Every reasonable effort must be made to eliminate unnecessary risk and downtime.
- Onsite computer and related device maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
- Add computers to the domain.
- Obtain quotes and place orders with the Procurement Department and manage the ordering of IS&T equipment.
- Deal with suppliers to provide necessary support for daily duties.
- Liaise with service providers regarding remote server issues (AWS platforms / Azure platforms / GCP platforms).
- Refer complex IS&T issues to service providers.
- Maintain all systems security levels to be compliant with company Group standards to combat any security threats, including Crowdstrike (on Enterprise Scale) or similar, as well as all other assistance required by the CISO.
- Update all necessary IS&T inventory lists at all times when changes are made to any IS&T related matters.
- Experience with Google Workspace is essential as users will require assistance in the use and management of this platform.
- Ensure that Google profiles & email addresses are created and assigned to employees.
- Assist with creating and setting up profiles for communication and utilizing Google shared drives.
- Perform all necessary data backups and manage Google accounts of ex-employees, archiving information when requested by management.
- Ensure that all phone extensions (MITEL VoIP) are created and assigned to employees.
- Ensure that all requirements and instructions of IS&T Headquarters are carried out and implemented within necessary time frames to ensure compliance with company Group Policies, Procedures, and standards.
- Perform all necessary IS&T support functions.
- Perform any other duties required by your designated Manager.

- Minimum 3 years’ experience.
Desired Experience & Qualification
REQUIRED COMPETENCE AND / OR QUALIFICATIONS :
Grade 12 (or equivalent) plus Diploma or Degree in relevant field or assessed equivalent competence.A+ / N+ - fundamental understanding of networks essential.Meraki Equipment (Firewalls / Routers / Switches / WiFi AP’s / Cameras / Sensors) / Network Managed PoE Switches - HP / Cisco / Aruba / Meraki Cisco experience is essential.Active Directory - Maintaining Active Directory / Creating User Accounts.SaaS / IaaS / PaaS experience.Google Workspace Administration.GCP (Google Cloud Platform) knowledge advantageous.Desktop Support knowledge (Notebooks / Desktops / Chromebooks).VLANS experience.MITEL Telephony (VoIP) knowledge essential.Package & Remuneration
