Job descriptionEngage with business stakeholders to identify challenges and opportunities Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements Develop business cases, models, and process documentation (UML, BPMN) Analyze data, processes, and system integrations to recommend improvements Collaborate with technical teams (development, QA, architecture, data) to ensure solutions meet business goals Participate in project lifecycle activities including QA, UAT, demos, and training Support incident investigations and system enhancements Contribute to system modernization initiatives (including cloud migration and automation) Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and project documentation using PowerBI and other tools Ensure alignment with internal standards, compliance, and governance processes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills – able to translate complex concepts for technical and business audiences High attention to detail while maintaining a strategic outlook Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building ability Adaptable, organized, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments Team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently Business acumen and understanding of financial or insurance environments Confident and self-driven, with the ability to stay calm under pressure Business analysis Process Mapping Business Process Analysis Business Process
My client based in Bellville is currently looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join their team on a contract basis.
IT / FINANCE
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Informatics, Actuarial Science, or Engineering
- Business Analysis certification (e.g. FTI or similar)
- Project Management qualification advantageous
- 10+ years' experience as a Business Analyst within Financial Services (preferably short-term insurance or reinsurance)
- Proven experience working with high-volume transactional software
- Strong SQL skills (ability to read and execute code)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power Query, and PowerBI (data modelling, dashboards, reporting)
- Experience in data analysis, data visualization, and process mapping
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Skilled in using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Familiar with UML, BPMN, and Enterprise Architect tools
- Exposure to digital transformation, cloud technologies, and automation tools
- Working knowledge of Large Language Models (e.g., CoPilot) is advantageous
