My client based in Bellville is currently looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join their team on a contract basis.
IT / FINANCE
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Informatics, Actuarial Science, or Engineering
- Business Analysis certification (e.g. FTI or similar)
- Project Management qualification advantageous
- 10+ years' experience as a Business Analyst within Financial Services (preferably short-term insurance or reinsurance)
- Proven experience working with high-volume transactional software
- Strong SQL skills (ability to read and execute code)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power Query, and PowerBI (data modelling, dashboards, reporting)
- Experience in data analysis, data visualization, and process mapping
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Skilled in using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Familiar with UML, BPMN, and Enterprise Architect tools
- Exposure to digital transformation, cloud technologies, and automation tools
- Working knowledge of Large Language Models (e.g., CoPilot) is advantageous
Responsibilities
Engage with business stakeholders to identify challenges and opportunitiesTranslate business needs into functional and technical requirementsDevelop business cases, models, and process documentation (UML, BPMN)Analyze data, processes, and system integrations to recommend improvementsCollaborate with technical teams (development, QA, architecture, data) to ensure solutions meet business goalsParticipate in project lifecycle activities including QA, UAT, demos, and trainingSupport incident investigations and system enhancementsContribute to system modernization initiatives (including cloud migration and automation)Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and project documentation using PowerBI and other toolsEnsure alignment with internal standards, compliance, and governance processesCompetency
