Procurement and Costing Clerk - Howick
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Procurement and Costing Clerk to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Analyse packaging requirements volumes and supplier pricing to identify and implement cost reduction and process improvements
- Execute daily packaging procurement manage supplier relationships for competitive pricing and quality and track cost of sales
- Collaborate with Marketing Graphics Design Sales and Warehouse teams to ensure packaging designs are cost-effective and order quantities align with sales forecasts
- Provide support to internal teams on packaging needs and cover the Procurement Managers duties during leave
- Rapidly learn the costing methods of lithographic and flexible printing processes
Requirements
Bachelor of Commerce qualification (BCom) and CIMA certification (Advantageous)Minimum 2 years experience in a similar procurement or costing role ideally within a manufacturing or FMCG environmentAdvanced Excel skills and strong general numerical skillsProficiency in reporting and data analysisProven ability to work with cross-functional teams (e.g. Graphics Design Production Sales)Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detailStrong communication and relationship management skillsA proactive approach to identifying cost optimisation opportunitiesUnderstanding of the packaging industry including printing processes and material requirements (Advantageous)Due to the high volume of applications received only suitable candidates who meet the criteria of this vacancy will be contacted.
