Purpose of Role :
To lead and drive strategic sales growth across a defined area by managing and supporting Sales Managers and Business Development Managers (BDMs), ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and executing area specific targets , driving revenue growth and market share goals. The Area Sales Manager is a key driver of execution, mentoring, and alignment across teams to unlock areal performance and sustainable success.

What you’ll do…
Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to align and implement strategic regional sales plans.Provide accurate weekly and monthly reports on sales trends, team performance, customer satisfaction, and market insights.Promote S2S product offerings to broaden reach and support BDMs in lead generation, tracking, and conversion.Oversee area management, ensuring growth, retention, and strong performance across all allocated territories.Support and coach Sales Managers and BDMs, implementing tailored development plans and performance feedback.Monitor existing accounts, ensuring high retention, satisfaction, and cross-sell opportunities are actioned.Support high-value client interactions and strategic account managementBuild and maintain relationships with key customers and partnersTake ownership of branding and marketing visibility within the region and ensure alignment with national goals.Conduct regular market and competitor analysis to identify trends, threats, and growth opportunities.Address underperforming accounts and ensure corrective actions are implemented by the responsible SMs.Lead execution of special projects aimed at improving performance and customer experience.Review bi-weekly performance tracker reports with RSM and drive accountability on targets.Provide regular updates to the Regional Sales Manager on performance, challenges, and opportunities.Ensure operational compliance : vehicle checklists, expense claims, and leave approvals.Drive execution discipline by ensuring consistent completion of checklists and team follow-through.Handle fleet oversight and ensure logbook accuracy and compliance.Execute ad-hoc leadership directives promptly and efficiently.Ensure CRM data accuracy, completeness, compliance and entries or activities align with organizational guidelines and requirements.People Leadership at Shop2Shop

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, or arelated field preferred.
3-5 years in sales leadership, with experience managing team leads or first-line managersStrong exposure to field operations, regional strategy execution, and customer engagementDemonstrated experience in developing and executing regional sales strategies aligned with company goals.Strong understanding of customer relationship management (CRM) and account retention techniques.Background in fintech, FMCG, retail, or distribution environments will be an advantage.Industry Knowledge
Deep understanding of our industry in South Africa.Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, pricing dynamics, and competitor landscape.Technical & Analytical Skills
Proficient in sales systems (CRM, Booqa, BI tools)Strong ability to interpret sales data and operational performance metricsLeadership
