Equity Analyst

Job descriptionConduct in-depth, high quality company and industry research as a critical input to add value Report formally on research projects by means of written reports and in person Make clear and appropriate conviction recommendations on the businesses under coverage, with substantiated supporting information, to generate benchmark and peer beating returns Take initiative in emphasising positive and negative opportunities amongst the full coverage universe Preparation for and attendance of Equity Management meetings with active participation Generate appropriate content for both internal and external usage on an ad hoc basis Undertake client facing activities as required Adhering to Investment Management and Group Compliance policies and procedures, undertaking appropriate regulatory training and dealing with potential breaches of compliance policies without delay Minimum 1 years working experience in listed equity analysis role Demonstrated track record of investment skill FAIS experience with the necessary (RE5) Representative Regulatory Exam would be an advantage. If not, then the candidate would have to undergo supervision to meet the fit and proper criteria. Working experience with Fact set or similar market software MS Office (Advanced Excel, Power‐point, Word, Outlook) Planning and Organising : Schedules and manages workload effectively, thinks ahead, sets plans to achieve goals Teamwork : Supports and works towards team goals, shares information, is helpful and co‐operative. Works effectively with people outside immediate team and within the wider group Communication skills : Effective communicator, communicates clearly and concisely, listens effectively, written communication is well presented. Accuracy, quality and productivity : Works diligently to deliver work of a high standard and accuracy. Technical Knowledge : Demonstrates required technical knowledge, understands the policies, processes and systems in their area of expertise, keeps technical knowledge up to date. Research and analysis Skill : Displays analytical, objective and thorough approach to information gathering, considers and questions all scenarios and identifies the most important factors, presents analysis in a clear manner reaching logical conclusions. Problem solving and Decision making : Considers the wider consequences of each decision, gathers and analyses information to find creative solutions Shows a passion and enthusiasm for Equity markets.
