Overview

We are excited to announce a new vacancy in our transport department as a broker!

Qualifications

Matric certificate
1-2 years' experience in a similar role (transport brokerage, logistics, or supply chain management)
Relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field is advantageous

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain relationships with 3rd party transporters

Negotiate competitive rates with transporters

Book loads / shipments with 3rd party transporters

Ensure timely receipt of Proof of Delivery (POD) documents

Maintain and update the rate sheet for internal stakeholders

Provide support to all departments across branches with 3rd party transport requirements

Monitor and report on transport-related performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, transit times)

Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings

Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and resolve any logistical issues

Manage and track shipments, including tracking, tracing, and expediting as needed

Collaborate with the operations team, reduce transit times, and improve delivery efficiency

Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external clients

Desirable Skills

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Basic knowledge of logistics and transportation regulations

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Experience with transport management systems (TMS) or logistics software

A good understanding of math basics (e.g., calculations, conversions) is essential for this role.

Attention to detail and good work ethic.

Proactive and understands geography.
