Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Servicing :
Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on diesel generators, including oil changes, fuel system checks, battery maintenance, and coolant system upkeep.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics :Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and by interpreting schematics and manuals.
Repair & Overhaul :Perform repairs, replacements, and rebuilds of generator components, engines, electrical switching mechanisms, and control systems.
Testing :Perform load-bank testing to verify generator performance and capacity under load.
Installation :Install new generator systems and related equipment on-site.
Record Keeping :Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
On-Call Duty :Participate in an on-call rotation to provide emergency services outside of normal hours.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Technical Skills : Proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting, and using diagnostic tools (like multimeters, ohmmeters, and computerized diagnostics).Experience : Significant experience with diesel engine and generator maintenance, repair, and servicing.Education : Technical training or a certificate from a technical college or trade school.Reading Schematics : Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and manufacturer manuals.Safety : Knowledge of and adherence to safety procedures, including Lockout / Tagout.Communication : Strong oral and written communication skills.Other Skills : Excellent problem-solving abilities, time management, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
