Safety Officer - Construction

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment on construction sites, and for implementing and enforcing safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety Planning : Develop and implement site-specific safety plans, including risk assessments and hazard identification.
• Safety Inspections : Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Safety Training : Provide safety training and inductions to employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Incident Investigation : Investigate incidents and accidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Safety Reporting : Prepare and submit safety reports, including incident reports, safety statistics, and compliance reports.
• Compliance : Ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation, regulations, and standards, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Stakeholder Engagement : Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders, including employees, contractors, clients, and regulatory authorities.
• Skills : Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, as well as strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
