Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Longmeadow has an opportunity available for a DC Checker to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to achieve operational excellence, within the Dis-Chem Distribution Centre. Perform a checking function in the outbound checking area, in order to meet both legal and customer requirements.Minimum Requirements :
Essential :
Matric – With English and Mathematics1 Year relevant experience, in a Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain EnvironmentComputer Literacy - MS OfficeAdvantageous :
Supply-Chain or Logistics Degree or DiplomaComputer Skills – Word, Excel, OutlookJob Description :
Ensure that a high standard of accuracy is maintained during checking of picked ordersEnsure that all picked stock is scanned to verify order against required quantity, batch and expiry dateEnsure that stock is packed in a manner that will prevent cross-contamination and damages during transport to storesEnsure that once checked that : Either the pack-slip is included in the box or label with the description of goods in the Stock box or toteEnsure that all goods when packed for dispatch to stores are labelled with labels required. (Use the store name / invoice number and number of boxes)Do not allow stock to be removed from the warehouse, without proper documentation or the approval of the supervisor or manager / pharmacistMeet set targets set by management with emphasis on accuracyReport and record, on all errors made by pickers, to supervisors or managementReport on the damage or malfunction of all checking equipmentConfer with supervisors or management regularly regarding stock errors and damagesClean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulationsEnsure that the checking area storage and space utilization is optimizedBe security conscious at all times and avoid theft and fraudEnsure that extra / wrong picks are set aside for supervisor authorisation allowing inventory to return stock to binCompetencies
Essential :
Knowledge of Distribution Centre, logistics and supply chain operations.
