We are seeking a sales-driven Portfolio Manager to drive business growth, maximize profitability, and strengthen client relationships. Responsibilities include managing a pipeline of clients and deals, conducting financial assessments, structuring agreements, and ensuring successful transaction execution.
Responsibilities
- Play a pivotal role in driving business growth, maximising profitability, and fostering strong client relationships through effective new business development, rigorous financial analysis, and strategic cross-selling efforts. We approach every day with a client focus.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within specific sectors (Aviation, Agriculture, Transport, Technology, Renewable Energy, Yellow Metal, etc.)
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients (and / or suppliers where applicable) and deals.
- Analyse market trends to capitalise on emerging opportunities.
- Conduct thorough assessments of client needs and propose tailored financial solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to structure deals that meet both client requirements and company objectives.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Evaluate the financial viability of proposed deals and assess their potential impact on overall profitability.
- Ensure timely and efficient execution of new business transactions from initiation to closure.
- Develop strong relationships with existing clients to uncover additional business needs and promote complementary products or services from within the Merchant West Group (Lending & Advisory products).
- Measure the quality of leads provided to other business units within the Merchant West Group of companies, emphasizing quality over quantity.
Qualifications
BCom degree with Finance and / or Mathematics, Accounting as a subject(s).Experience
4+ years’ experience in a sales position with a financial background / solution selling.Relationships and client / dealer base within the sector.Ability to understand and analyse financial statements.Familiarity with the National Credit Act.Skills
Interest and knowledge in Renewable Energy sector and assets.Strong understanding of Renewable Energy markets, technologies, and regulatory environments.Driver’s License (Code 08).Tailored Staff Financial Wellness Offering.Select divisions in the MW Group are licensed and authorised FSPs.
