Job descriptionParticipate in safety forums created by company for example safety meetings and safety talks Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management Report all safety incidents to the relevant people Attend safety education and refresher programmes Comply with safety policies and procedures Distribute safety information as and when required Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times Ensure overall compliance to relevant procedures and policies Ensure that all team members have clearly defined job profiles Regular goal reviews are completed to assess achievement of results Support, coaching and mentoring is continuously provided to ensure that objectives are met Appropriate allocation of resources to meet operational demands Ensure adequate succession planning in order to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements Qualified Trade Certificate as a Millwright Minimum of 5 years of plant maintenance experience Minimum 5 years of Turning and Machining experience Forklift driver's license advantageous Experience in a manufacturing environment advantageous Experience in a food manufacturing environment advantageous Experience with Tool and Parts Management Computer literacy Experience in ARC, TIG and MIG welding advantageous Own transport Understanding and knowledge of mechanical seals, pump maintenance, pneumatic systems, steam components, and auger and conveyor systems
Responsibilities
- Maintain plant equipment
- Perform plant maintenance during the shutdown period
- Understand and interpret new drawings and manuals
- Install new machines and equipment as and when instructed
- Responding to emergency machine breakdowns throughout the plant
- Do regular inspections of plant equipment
- Give feedback to Maintenance Supervisors on breakdown root cause analyses
- Attend to all relevant breakdowns during standby period
- Complete DMS Work orders and Work order book to keep a record of work completed
- Apply for parts by making use of the requisition procedure
- Operate the Leathe and Milling machine to manufacture parts and spares
- Machine calibrations and setups
- Automation improvements and installation of electrical equipment
- Maintenance and improvements on electrical control systems
