Technical Garment Technologist - Cape Union Mart - Maternity contract 6 months

Job descriptionLead product development aligned with brand specs Prepare accurate tech packs for suppliers Oversee the full sample sealing process—from development through bulk production Conduct seasonal fit reviews Pattern grading to brand / customer specs Provide technical support to the design team Maintain and update pattern block library and grading rules Manage strict quality standards and QA reports Develop supplier relationships; investigate quality issues Liaise with QC at the distribution centre and with both local and overseas factories for approvals and quality queries Grade 12 (Matric) and tertiary qualification in fashion, clothing, textiles, or garment construction Factory experience is advantageous Preferably 5+ years in a similar role Valid driver’s license is a plus Experience in clothing retail Proficient in Microsoft Office; intermediate to high Excel skills advantageous Strong garment and pattern construction knowledge Understanding of retail cycles and clothing construction processes Passion for design trends (local and international) Detail-oriented, solution-driven, proactive, lateral thinker Strong communication, stakeholder relationship-building Excellent prioritisation and time-management under pressure Store Keeping / Procurement jobs
