VP of Finance & Operations – Venture Capital | Cape Town | Remote

CAnnection has partnered with a UK based VC firm that’s rethinking how venture capital is done. They back exceptional founders early — people with bold ideas and the grit to tackle tough problems. Their approach is intentionally hands-on : they act as an in-house VC partner, offering network, insight, and genuine collaboration rather than just capital.

Their belief is simple : small funds can do big things when they focus on trust, transparency, and deep partnerships with founders. It’s an ambitious, values-driven team with a clear mission to build one of the best small funds in Europe.

My client is now looking for their first VP of Finance & Operations — someone to be the operational and financial backbone of the business, and a key driving force as they scale.

You’ll take full ownership of finance and operations, from fund reporting and compliance to running internal processes and supporting data-driven portfolio decisions. This is a senior role with meaningful upside, working directly with the Founder & General Partner to shape how the firm runs and grows.

You’ll be involved in :

• Overseeing the fund model — budgeting, cash flow, and forecasting.
• Managing fund accounting, audits, tax, and compliance.
• Providing liquidity insights and analysis to support portfolio decisions.
• Overseeing entity management and keeping everything running efficiently.
• Managing treasury, banking, FCA compliance, and key stakeholder relationships.
• Coordinating deal execution from end to end.
• Supporting portfolio financial functions and fundraising processes.
• Supporting LP reporting and fundraising strategy for future funds.
