Job descriptionMinimum 5-10 years of factory maintenance experience as an electrician Must be able to work at heights Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), variable frequency drives (VFDs) Experience in working with and troubleshooting proximity sensors used in various automated systems Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs : Word, Excel, PowerPoint Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Standards and ability to apply safety standards in electrical work Strong interpersonal and communication skills Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently Must have own reliable transportation Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and after-hours to address electrical breakdowns or urgent maintenance requirements Install, maintain and repair electrical systems in accordance with project specifications and electrical codes Read blueprints and schematics; install wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, and control systems Diagnose electrical faults and determine necessary corrective actions Collaborate with other trades and teams; provide on-site coaching and documentation Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used Must have own reliable transportation Driver’s license where applicable Willingness to work in shifts and travel as required
Job Description
The Electrician is responsible for completing any task related to the electrical components of the machinery and equipment and inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as to identify any hazards or issues. Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
Qualification Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
- Matric
- N4 Qualification in Relevant field
- Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal)
- Registration with Electrical Contracting Board (Able to sign off COC's) – where applicable
