Job Title : Composite Manager- Fibreglass Boat Building Factory - Full expatriate relocation
Location : Port Vila, Vanuatu - South West Pacific
Employment Type : Full-time
Salary : USD $4,000–$6,000 per month, negotiable based on skills and qualifications, with additional benefits.
Requirements : Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Composite Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the fibreglass boat-building factory, ensuring high-quality production and efficient processes.
Primary Duties
- Plan, organise, direct, and run optimal day-to-day operations to exceed the expectations of the customers and ownership group.
- Manage a staff of approximately 18–25 employees, including ongoing recruitment efforts.
- Delegate and monitor tasks effectively to ensure timely completion.
- Increase production, asset capacity, and operational flexibility while minimising unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
- Oversee production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.
- Manage stock and procurement from global suppliers, with delivery times ranging from 2 to 8 months.
Selection Criteria
5–10 years of prior experience in a similar role, with the ability to manage a team of approximately 25–30 staff, currently producing 18–20 boats per month.Comprehensive understanding of composite materials, preferably in fibreglass boat manufacturing, including expertise in dry goods, resins (e.g., Vinyl Ester and Epoxy), and all core products.Proficiency in repairing and creating moulds, with the ability to train and supervise others in these tasks.Strong research and development skills, ideally in fibreglass boat production, to support ongoing testing and development of new models.Basic mathematical skills required; advanced mathematical skills preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Xero application.Attachments : Attach cv, qualifications, id & drivers licence
