Site Reliability Engineer – Midrand / Semi-Remote – Contract – R600 Per hour

A role for a Site Reliability Engineer has been made available for a candidate that has Java development experience of at least 1 year . (OCA preferable, OCP more so).

You will be coordinate with internal and external team members, including QA and BA, and knowledge sharing and compiling of operational manuals.

Requirements :

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar
• Java development experience of at least 1 year. (OCA preferable, OCP more so)
• At least 6 months AWS experience
• Java 11+ with Object Orientated skills
• Spring Boot
• Kubernetes and Docker
• Git / GitHub
• AWS technologies : SQS, SNS, Kinesis, Lambda, Aurora RDS, EKS, DynamoDB, Cognito, API Gateway, ElastiCache
• SQL, PostgreSQL preferable
• Infrastructure as Code : TerraForm & TerraGrunt
• CI / CD pipeline setup, GitHub Actions, GitOps preferable
• Networking in an AWS context, subnets, firewalls, routing, DNS, (reverse) proxies
• Microprofile or Quarkus preferable
• Helm, YAML
• RESTful endpoints design and implementation
• Typescript / Javascript
• WSL / Unix
• TDD (Test driven development) / BDD (Behaviour driven development)
• Gradle
• Grafana / Prometheus
• Atlassian Jira / Confluence
• A strong team player that has a high level of ownership and responsibility
