Position Summary
This position is based in Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, or Colombia. The Seed Fund is a strategic fund held and administered by Conservation International, providing timely strategic assistance to conserve vital reserves of biodiversity and irrecoverable carbon, and kick‑start the implementation of ‘Country Packages’ in host countries.
Seed Fund Focus
- Invest in capacity building and strengthen delivery on the ground, including through NGOs or Indigenous peoples and local communities.
- Design and implement conservation efforts for vital reserves of carbon and biodiversity.
- Advance key scientific and monitoring products, boosting scientific cooperation to provide data for Country Package development.
- Support upscaling of long‑term and reliable finance and financial innovation to further increase domestic funding sources.
- Support feasibility studies for the long‑term delivery of larger Country Packages.
Responsibilities
Administer the dissemination of information or messaging internally and externally; review and edit messages to donors to ensure clarity, thoroughness, and brand consistency.Draft and distribute press releases, fact sheets, or other documents; respond to media inquiries; schedule and coordinate media interviews.Select and / or create content for publication on organizational websites, ensuring alignment with marketing and public relations strategies; coordinate with web teams to keep sites updated and content indexed.Working Conditions
Extended work hours may be required, including non‑traditional hours.International travel up to 30% of time may be required.Guidance on flexible work arrangements will be shared during the interview process.Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree and 4–6 years of experience.Comprehensive knowledge of communication concepts, technical expertise, and ability to perform complex tasks following established processes.Management, oral and written communication, persuasive communication, and team building skills.Fluency in English and a second language (French or Spanish, preferred).Ability to influence others, work in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities, and operate with minimal supervision.Preferred
Experience in MS SharePoint design, database creation and management.Experience producing and disseminating knowledge management products and training materials.Experience in monitoring and evaluation, including developing indicators, designing surveys, analysing data, and presenting findings.Expertise in crisis communication.Application
