Position Overview
ProProcess seeks a senior Bookkeeper responsible for managing the day‑to‑day financial transactions of the business, ensuring accuracy in general ledger postings, supplier payments, inventory‑related entries, and compliance with accounting standards. The role requires strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of manufacturing operations and cost structures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts accurately and timely.
- Record day‑to‑day financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts and payments.
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, supplier statements and ledger accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Oversee payroll journal entries and ensure correct allocation to cost centres.
- Monitor inventory transactions and assist with inventory reconciliations.
- Support month‑end closing processes by preparing necessary schedules and reports.
- Reconcile and process intercompany transactions if applicable.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and assist with depreciation calculations.
- Assist in preparation of VAT returns and other compliance filings.
- Liaise with external accountants or auditors as required.
- Identify discrepancies and recommend improvements to financial processes and controls.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies.
- Support financial analysis and decision‑making processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 matriculation (essential).BCom Accounting or Financial Management degree (essential).5–6 years experience in a similar role and industry.Good understanding of the engineering and manufacturing industry.Good business acumen (numeracy skills, generation of profit and loss margin).3 years ERP systems experience with SYSPRO.Experience in handling inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) accounting.Microsoft Excel proficiency.Exceptional time‑management and problem‑solving skills.International accounting standards knowledge advantageous.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Key Requirements
