Job description :
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :
- Engineering quality control
- Involvement in the operational aspects of the business (being hands-on)
- Overseeing mechanical design and layout work
- Overseeing the production of drawings for manufacturing
- Overseeing routine and planned maintenance
- Liaising with various service providers
- Troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and facilitating repairs
- Ensuring efficiency and highest possible production level
- Detailed design of industrial machines, sub-components, sheet metal design, weldments & large-scale assemblies
- Generate detailed drawings and BOM’s
- Prepare manufacturing and assembly instructions
- Extensive experience with industrial machinery and structural design
- Ensuring all inspection and preventative maintenance tasks are documented and scheduled on the group CMMS
- Liaise with other departments about failures and potential solutions
- Drive preventive and predictive maintenance
- Drive continuous improvement
- Undertake quality assurance on mechanical work executed
- Compile reports on failures and tasks
Qualifying Experience :
BSc / B.Eng. / B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent5 – 10 years’ experience in the maintenance or production environmentCompetency in computer-aided engineering design and drawingHands - on working experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environmentExperience in hydraulic system design and maintenance advantageousExperience in electrical control system advantageousExperience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management SystemMust be fully Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)Strong proven administrative skillsKnowledgeable on the Occupational Health and Safety ActQualifying attributes
