The Systems Programmer (z / OS System Support) is responsible for the installation, customization, maintenance, and performance of IBM z / OS systems and related mainframe software. The role ensures the reliability, availability, and stability of the mainframe environment, supporting business-critical applications and production systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain IBM z / OS , associated subsystems, and related mainframe software products.
• Provide system-level support , including problem determination, performance tuning, and incident resolution.
• Perform system upgrades, PTFs, and maintenance activities with minimal business disruption.
• Manage and support z / OS components such as JES2 / JES3, SMP / E, RACF, REXX, ISPF, and TSO.
• Monitor system health, capacity, and resource utilization to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with application and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, standards, and change control processes.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing .
• Implement and enforce security and compliance standards within the z / OS environment.
• Provide 24x7 support on a rotational basis for critical system incidents.
