Lead mission-critical DevOps operations for global automotive systems! Drive operational excellence, mentor high-performing teams, and ensure 24 / 7 reliability for enterprise-scale Java, AWS, and microservices infrastructure!

Senior DevOps leadership with operational management expertise

EXPERIENCE : 6-8 years related experience

COMMENCEMENT : 01 November 2025

LOCATION : Hybrid : Midrand / Menlyn / Rosslyn / Home Office rotation

TEAM : Program Planning & Ordering (Central Ordering)

Qualifications / Experience

IT Degree / Diploma / Equivalent experience
10-15 years in IT Operations
Experience in leading teams

Essential Skills Requirements

Strong operational management capabilities including incident management and troubleshooting, operational processes and lifecycle management

Strong sense of reliability, being available to support after-hours as required

Proven experience in a strong leadership capacity

Strong technical background with solid skills in Java SpringBoot, Angular, SQL, Kafka, MQ, AWS, execution of Linux commands

Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter

Java Spring Boot

Angular (Typescript and JavaScript)

Kafka & JMS (MQ)

Design and development of Microservices

Git, GitHub

CI / CD pipelines

Maven, docker

Jira, confluence

IIB Servers

Linux Commands

Role Requirements

Lead Operations teams and manage incident resolution within defined timelines

Implement strong troubleshooting practices

Ensure feature teams adhere to operational processes

Evaluate, approve, and present changes to Change Advisory Boards (CABs)

Monitor and ensure compliance with Operational and Security KPIs

Report monthly KPI metrics to stakeholders and management

Provide weekly status updates on all operational matters

Oversee deployment and release processes

Maintain consistent systems availability and stability

Be available for 24 / 7 high / critical priority escalation support

Maintain Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) and ensuring adherence

Mentor graduates and support their career development

Foster a positive team culture and dynamics

Encourage proactive knowledge sharing and coaching among team members

Identify and resolve technical lifecycle issues with feature teams

Demonstrate strong planning skills for complex change implementations

Manage server configurations and lifecycle management (commissioning and decommissioning)

Report on financial operations (FINOPS) and optimize resource utilization

Ensure governance and compliance for dedicated hardware and software assets

Provide support for existing solutions (DevOps) including standby. Willing and able to be on standby after hours, on weekends and on public holidays as per rotation schedules

Other responsibilities as per AWM Charter or as decided by department manager
