Stores Controller

Key Responsibilities :

Oversee the receipts, storage, and issuance of engineering materials and parts

Maintain optimal stock levels to ensure materials are available when required

Supervise, train, and develop junior store staff

Ensure accurate inventory records and investigate any discrepancies

Liaise with suppliers and follow up on outstanding orders

Maintain a clean and organized engineering stores area

Requirements :

Matric (Grade 12) is essential

Tertiary qualification in Engineering is an added advantage

Minimum 5 years experience in a storeman role, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or senior capacity

Solid understanding of engineering materials (mechanical, electrical, etc.)

Strong knowledge of inventory control systems , stock usage tracking, and replenishment

Proven leadership experience managing store teams and delegating tasks

Familiarity with FIFO , stock safety levels, and storage best practices

Problem-solving ability to resolve stock discrepancies and shortages efficiently

Hands-on experience with Syspro or similar ERP systems

Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)

Physically fit - ability to lift heavy items and work in physically demanding environments

Excellent communication, time management, and adaptability skills
