LOCATION OF POSITION : MDH Worcester County Health Department, Snow Hill, MD 21863
Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this full-time position will be to provide fiscal supervision of the billing staff and processes for the Worcester County Health Department. This position will supervise and review the work of fiscal staff as well as create and maintain metrics in which to measure staff performance for mid-cycle and end-cycle reviews. This position will also analyze data and CPT code usage, identify lost revenue, review, verify, record, adjust and balance financial transactions related to client services to ensure client accounts are handled accurately and efficiently while maintaining an appropriate aging accounts receivable. In addition, this position will work with all of the departments within the agency to ensure maximum reimbursement for all fee-for-service programs as well as generate reports and assist the Administrator as needed. The selected applicant must be willing and able to travel to all Worcester County Health Department sites.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience : Four years of experience reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting and balancing financial transactions.
Notes : 1. Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education. 2. Six credit hours in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience. 3. A minimum of five courses or six months of accounting-related training in a vocational training program in subjects such as journalizing transactions, analyzing transactions into debits and credits, posting to a general ledger, payroll, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable may be substituted for one year of the required experience. 4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical / Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications
The desired candidate should possess proficient experience using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
