Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Business Development Officer to join their team based in the Western Cape.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12
- Relevant Sales / Marketing diploma / degree will be an advantage
- Computer Literacy is essential (i.e. MS Office)
- Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage
- Valid Driver’s Licence is essential and own transport
- Minimum 5 years Sales & Business Development Experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Good knowledge of reading / speaking the English language. Afrikaans an advantage
- Ability to engage and communicate with all levels of stakeholders
- Liaise and communicate effectively with colleagues and Management
- Compilation and delivery of technical presentations to large groups
Main Job Functions
Expand the market share and reach of the company through developing, maintaining, and growing business relationships with current and potential customers of the company.Promote and educate all company stakeholders and the Construction industry at large on the company product ranges in a professional manner.Create, manage and monitor the Project Database for all projects within South Africa that are relevant to company product rangesCommunicate pertinent business opportunities and project information to the relevant Marketing and Sales teams.Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to secure specification of company product ranges on projects.Support the Sales Department with customer training and education, securing new business, and providing technical information to assist the Sales team in securing new business and maintaining current business.Responsible for managing the Western Cape, Eastern Cape & Southern Cape RegionsPro-actively engaging with all stakeholders; establishing and maintaining good relationships with them with the purpose of growing revenue for the company. Stakeholders include Roll Formers, Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Consultant Engineers, Contractors, Developers and Professional AssociationsMaintain the Project Pipeline created to track the status of projects (i.e. Planning / Design Stage, Out to Tender, On-site). Create a pipeline projection for all internal stakeholders.Provide technical training and education on the company range of products to all stakeholders.Ensure Key Account Managers are assisted with : detailed product specifications; timely updates and communication of the project database; delivering formal technical and educational presentations to stakeholders; assisting with technical support.Coordinate efforts to secure company material specification for projectsProvide technical insights into the commercial aspects of the company product rangesDelivery of presentations at CPD Events & WorkshopsAssist with information on construction and development projectsProvide formal market feedback on company products, campaigns and marketing initiativesResolving customer complaints speedilyAssist with additional tasks as requested by management from time to timeUphold the company code of ethicsKnowledge of the South African Roofing Industry would be an advantageProficiency in interpreting and reading architectural and structural drawings would be an advantageAbility to work independently and be self-motivatedAbility to work well under pressure and travel extensivelyExcellent spoken and written communication skillsGood analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail#J-18808-Ljbffr
