Job descriptionProcess accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and supplier payments. Reconcile bank, supplier, and customer accounts. Month-End and Year-End Procedures : Assist with month-end journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. Support auditors and financial managers with year-end audits and financial statements. Compliance & Reporting : Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for tax returns. Maintain asset registers and depreciation schedules. Payroll & HR Support (if applicable) : Maintain proper payroll records in line with labour regulations. Administrative Support : Maintain proper filing systems for financial documents and contracts. Support the finance team in budgeting and cash flow forecasting. Qualifications : Bookkeeping certification (e.g., ICB, SAIPA, or similar) is an advantage. Experience : Experience with perishable goods, farming operations, or export logistics is highly beneficial. Skills : Strong Excel skills and understanding of reconciliations and financial principles. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and handle high-volume transactions during peak seasons. Other : Valid driver’s license and own transport may be required for multi-site coordination. - Financial Record-Keeping :
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
Prepare and submit monthly reconciliations and reports.
Ensure compliance with SARS, VAT submissions, and other statutory requirements.
Assist with payroll processing and employee benefit reconciliations.
Provide financial support to farm, packhouse, and export teams as needed.
Qualifications :
National Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in agriculture, exports, or FMCG.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, Pastel, QuickBooks).
Knowledge of South African tax laws and financial compliance.
