In this Sector Head – Mining Sub-Saharan Africa PositionSector Strategy & Market Growth
Develop and implement the regional mining logistics strategy aligned with global business priorities.Identify key mining corridors and logistics opportunities in major mining markets (South Africa, Angola, Nigeria, DRC, Mozambique, Ghana, etc.).Anticipate industry trends, regulatory changes, and infrastructure developments impacting logistics operations.Business Development & Client ManagementBuild strategic partnerships with mining companies, EPCs, and governments to position the company as a preferred logistics partner.Secure and manage large-scale, multi-country logistics contracts covering freight, warehousing, transport, and customs.Lead account planning and relationship management for top mining clients.Operational Excellence
Coordinate with country operations to deliver seamless, safe, and cost-effective supply chain services for the mining sector.Ensure alignment with global safety, sustainability, and compliance standards.Oversee logistics performance KPIs, network efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.Financial & Commercial AccountabilityDrive the mining sector P&L for Sub-Saharan Africa.Manage pricing strategy, cost structures, and profitability across service lines.Provide financial forecasts and business performance reporting to regional leadership.People & Leadership
Facilitate and mentor a cross-functional regional mining team.Foster collaboration between commercial, product, and project logistics units.Promote talent development, diversity, and local capacity building.Now, here is what we need from you!
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or Logistics (MBA preferred).5 - 10 years of experience in mining logistics, industrial logistics, or project logistics in Africa.Proven record of leading sector growth and managing key client accounts.Deep understanding of mining operations, regional transport networks, and trade regulations.Strong stakeholder management and commercial negotiation skills.Experience working in a matrixed, multicultural, and global corporate environment.We offer :
