POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the Registered Nurse (Dialysis) is to deliver haemodialysis on a 2 : 1 patient to nurse ratio to patients with complex needs in a community context and contribute to the management of dialysis units under the direction of Site or Regional Coordinators. Key responsibilities include holistic care and chronic disease management to support renal patients and their families. This position supervises and supports other staff in accordance with the Scope of Practice – Framework for Nurses and Midwives.

FUNCTIONS (Key Responsibilities)
Provide optimal dialysis treatment and holistic care within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.Work effectively within a team with a focus on patient care at all times.Develop and maintain positive relationships within the community, and engage with community strengthening activities.Manage a diverse workload, using and maintaining assets and resources effectively.Participate in quality and governance activities, reporting as required.Act as a resource and mentor, encouraging and supporting all new staff.Maintain clinical competency in haemodialysis and Basic Life Support.Promote a safe work environment in accordance with legislative requirements, adheres to Work Health Safety guidelines, and reports all incidents and near misses.Other duties as required within trained capability and classification.KEY COMPETENCIES (SELECTION CRITERIA)
Essential :
Qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)A minimum of 2 years Haemodialysis nursing experienceCertification of Basic Life Support (BLS)Working with Children ClearanceWillingness and capacity to work in a cross-cultural environment.Willingness to work under the direction of Indigenous leadership.Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.A knowledge and commitment to Quality Improvement.Knowledge of current Work Health Safety Legislation.Recent (less than 6 months old) National Criminal History Check.Able to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.Covid Vaccination (2 jabs + 1 booster).Unrestricted driver license to be able to drive in the NT.Desirable :
4WD / Manual driving experience.Post graduate qualifications in Renal Nursing or working towards the same.Experience working for an Indigenous organisation.Indigenous language skills.What We Offer :
