Job description

Role : FinOps Administrator Banking

Category : Administrative

Location : Claremont

Join a dynamic Finance Operations team responsible for the financial controls across a LISP, Life Company, CIS Manco, and retirement funds. This permanent position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to operational excellence and ensure regulatory compliance in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Act as an authorised releaser of local and international payments.

Review bank reconciliations and assist in resolving reconciling items.

Review Manco unit reconciliations and help resolve any differences.

Escalate concerns or potential issues to the FinOps Team Leader.

Perform AML reviews received from fund managers and the management company.

Oversee tax reporting, including reviewing PAYE reconciliations and ensuring tax submissions to SARS.

Resolve day-to-day operational queries effectively.

Build and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers.

Support audit processes and resolve audit queries within set deadlines.

Stay abreast of developments in industry, legislation, and best practices to grow your professional expertise.

Qualifications & Experience :

BCom Honours or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.

Minimum of 5 years experience in financial services, ideally in financial operations within a LISP or Manco.

Strong understanding of financial systems, data structures, and investment products.

Experience working with reconciliations, tax submissions, and AML compliance.

Highly numerate and detail-oriented.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ethical, trustworthy, and highly organised.

Adaptable and able to multitask in a routine-driven environment.

Technical Competencies :

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Experience working with SQL to query data is advantageous.
