SUMMARY :
Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify & Develop New Business
- Prospect for new clients / customers (cold calling, networking, site visits).
- Research and map new markets, segments, and opportunities.
- Generate leads and qualifying them.
- Client / Account Management
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients.
- Understand clients’ technical requirements and business problems, to recommend solutions.
- Provide duringâsales and postâsales technical support, or liaise with technical / engineering teams.
- Solution Design & Proposal Preparation
- Translate customer needs into appropriate technicalâproduct or service solutions.
- Prepare quotations, technical proposals, scope of work documentation.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery, contract terms with customers.
- Product Demonstrations & Presentations
- Conduct technical presentations / demos to prospective clients.
- Possibly do site visits / field work to show product capabilities.
- Sales Targets & Forecasting
- Meet or exceed sales quotas / revenue targets.
- Forecast sales, provide regular reports on pipeline, revenue, market trends.
- Monitor competitor activity and market developments to adjust strategy.
- Collaboration across Functions
- Work closely with engineering / R&D / product development to ensure solutions meet specs.
- Collaborate with operations, production, service teams to ensure delivery, installation, afterâsales service.
- With management for strategy, contract terms, and customer satisfaction.
- AfterâSales & Support
- Ensure smooth handover from sales to implementation or maintenance teams.
- Follow up postâinstallation to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve issues.
- Possibly provide training to customers or internal teams.
- Travel & Fieldwork
- Travel to client sites as needed (in Centurion, Gauteng, or broader region / country / international if required).
- Attend trade shows, conferences, or client meetings.
- Administrative & Reporting Tasks
- Maintain CRM records.
- Prepare quotes, invoices, contracts.
- Report on sales performance, customer feedback, market intelligence.
Qualifications & Skills
For such roles, these are commonly required or highly desirable :
EducationBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar) or a related technical field.Alternatively, a Diploma with significant relevant technical experience might sometimes be acceptable.Technical KnowledgeUnderstanding of the products or systems being sold — e.g. instrumentation, automation, pumps, electronics, solar systems, etc.Ability to read / interact with technical drawings, specifications.Familiarity with the industry’s norms / regulations / standards.POSITION INFO :
