Job descriptionIdentify, evaluate, and select suppliers and subcontractors for technical goods and services Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs to determine procurement needs Manage purchase orders from initiation through to delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Monitor supplier performance, conduct evaluations, and maintain strong supplier relationships Negotiate with vendors to optimise costs while ensuring quality and delivery commitments Address supplier issues related to quality, pricing, or delivery Prepare procurement reports, forecasts, and administrative documentation Support sales order processing and coordinate with logistics and internal teams for timely fulfilment Align with finance on payment terms, credit limits, and invoicing support Provide accurate, consistent feedback to management and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Outlook) with strong data analysis and reporting skills Exposure to ERP systems : Sage X3, SAP, and Syspro (advantageous) Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent organisational ability, with strong attention to detail Professional, resilient, and customer-focused Strong communication and negotiation skills Highly adaptable, with an innovative mindset Self-starter who thrives in both independent and team-based environments Able to manage pressure and deliver against tight deadlines
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, supplier management expertise, and the ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery while ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
Qualifications & Experience :
- 25 years experience in technical buying, procurement, or technical support
- National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or a related field (preferred)
- Prior experience with a multinational / global industrial company (advantageous)
