Role : Talent Acquisition Specialist

Location : Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

Employment type : Contract | Seniority : Mid-Senior level

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing candidates
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers to understand talent requirements
  • Develop and maintain a network of potential candidates through proactive sourcing (online platforms, social media, networking events, referrals)
  • Source candidates using multiple platforms (e.g., LinkedIn)
  • Nurture candidate relationships to ensure a positive experience
  • Manage internship and graduate programs to attract young talent and organise university career days
  • Identify cost-effective sourcing strategies while maintaining quality
  • Recruitment strategy
  • Collaborate with People Operations to align recruitment with company culture and values
  • Contribute to talent acquisition strategy aligned with growth plans and objectives
  • Support DEI strategies to achieve an annual hiring plan emphasizing diversity and inclusion
  • Recruitment execution
  • Work with hiring managers to define job descriptions, qualifications, and interview processes
  • Screen and assess candidates via CV reviews, interviews, and skills assessments
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews; ensure a seamless candidate and interviewer experience
  • Conduct reference and background checks
  • Advise hiring managers on interview practices, candidate evaluation, and selection
  • Manage multiple open positions with timelines and clear stakeholder communication
  • Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies
  • Ensure a diverse candidate pool for each role
  • Reduce time-to-fill by improving processes and leveraging technology
  • Coordinate with People Operations and Finance to align hiring plans with budget
  • Monitor recruitment-related expenses and provide optimisation insights
  • Negotiate packages with candidates
  • Brand awareness
  • Partner with Marketing to develop Electrum brand awareness online (e.g., LinkedIn)
  • Reporting, systems and administration
  • Implement recruitment technologies to streamline processes
  • Analyse HR metrics (time to hire, turnover)
  • Monitor market trends and competitor insights to evolve strategies
  • Use data to assess sourcing channel effectiveness and adjust strategies

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in talent acquisition or recruitment
  • Experience hiring for IT roles (Software Developers, Engineers, Sales, Operations)
  • Proven experience managing the full end-to-end recruitment process
  • Advantageous for the role

  • Experience with an ATS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong knowledge of Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple searches and deadlines
  • High ethical standards and confidentiality
