Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and technically skilled Product Testing and Returns Technician to join our operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, testing, and preparing returned networking and electronic equipment from distributors, clients, and internal departments.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, ensuring accurate documentation, and driving efficiency in the returns process — whether restocked, repaired, or escalated for further action.
Key Responsibilities
Test and evaluate returned products from distributors, clients, or internal teams.
Manage two main categories of returns :
1?? RMA Returns :
Test and verify faulty or damaged equipment.
Replicate and confirm reported issues or determine “no fault found.”
Compile detailed reports summarizing findings and outcomes.
2?? Sample Stock Returns :
Test and inspect returned sample stock for functionality, packaging, and completeness.
Reset units to factory settings and prepare them for reallocation or storage.
Assess unused returns for reintegration into inventory.
Communicate RMA results and collection readiness to clients and internal teams.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of test results, return reasons, and stock statuses.
Provide regular progress updates and ensure timely completion of testing and reporting.
Identify and escalate recurring product issues to the technical support team for further analysis.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong technical understanding of networking hardware (e.g. routers, switches, access points, cameras, etc.).
Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting ability for electronic devices.
Skilled in handling, testing, and resetting equipment.
Clear and professional communication skills for internal and external coordination.
Exceptional attention to detail and precision in documentation.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Competence in Excel or similar reporting tools.

Education & Experience
Minimum : Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
Preferred : Diploma or Certification in IT, Electronics, or related technical field
Advantageous :
Experience in product testing, IT hardware repair, or technical support
Familiarity with RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) processes
Experience in a distribution, warehouse, or service centre environment
