Senior Bookkeeper

Introduction

Will be required to do the bookkeeping for 15 companies in the Group, including processing and reviewing books to trial balance and management reporting, VAT and PAYE calculations and submissions, and preparation for annual year end and annual financial statements.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Invoicing
• Process Petty Cash and reconcile Cash on hand
• Manage the fixed asset register
• Maintain depreciation of fixed asset register
• Capture opening balance adjustments from yearend completed
• Ensure that all income statements and balance sheet items are balanced monthly
• Process bank reconciliations, intercompany loans, Debtors, Creditors, Petty Cash, Interest, Salaries, and depreciation
• Prepare Management Accounts
• VAT reconciliations
• Reconcile vatable turnover to Trial Balance
• Assist with VAT audits and verifications
• Process monthly Payroll Journals and submit PAYE returns
• Prepare weekly / monthly cash flows
• Load payments and salary transfers
• Instruct Creditors Clerks to load payments and capture supplier invoices
• Ensure payments made are correct
• Ensure invoices captured correctly by Creditors Clerk
• Ensure invoices are signed / authorised before paying
• General filing and admin
• Adhere to SOPs for processing, source documents, and statutory reconciliations
• Complete provisional tax calculations
• Prepare yearend working paper files and annual financial statements
• Liaise with Accountants on queries and review of prepared Annual Financial Statements
