Process Draughtsman – Durban

Blue Projects is seeking a skilled Process Draughtsman to join our team in Durban. If you are passionate about industrial projects and thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop detailed technical drawings and schematics for industrial projects.
• Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, CADMATIC, SolidWorks, Autodesk Navisworks, etc.) and drafting tools to produce accurate process drawings.
• Build and maintain a library of equipment, piping, and fittings using Visio and / or CAD systems.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, isometric drawings, equipment drawings, and BOMs.
• Interpret engineering plans and specifications to ensure efficient project execution.
• Incorporate feedback and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain organized records of all project drawings and documentation.
• Identify and propose design and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Confirm project design requirements with clients and other stakeholders.
• Create and validate piping, insulation, instrument, and equipment specifications.
• Prepare and verify all Material Take Offs (MTOs).
• Monitor and report on project progress to all stakeholders.
