Our company has a vacancy in the Western Cape for an Operations Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose of the role :

To manage the overall operations and lead the production team by ensuring effective utilization of key resources to meet business needs. The individual is responsible for safety, productivity, quality, resources, and reliability within the production environment.

Responsibilities include :

• Ensuring all operations are carried out in an appropriate, cost-effective way.
• Improving operational management systems, processes, and best practices.
• Recruiting, selecting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees to the correct standards.
• Improving and developing operations systems by determining product handling, storage, efficiencies, quality, and safety.
• Analyzing and improving organizational processes and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implementing changes.
• Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing predetermined standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
• The control and management of 200 employees over 3 different shifts.
• Responsible for all department managers and supervisors, with review / approval responsibility for all operations employees.
• Responsible for all aspects of the company assets.
• Ensuring all processes remain compliant with OSHA health and safety regulations and other governmental regulations.
