Job description

We're looking for a talented wordsmith with a passion for writing to join our client's PR team in Cape Town.

Based in Claremont, they are a small, hands-on agency making a big impact in the fintech, healthcare, early learning, and EdTech sectors.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent sense of news and current affairs, strong storytelling skills, and an eye for detail.

As the main point of contact for their clients, the applicant should be driven by effectiveness, highly organized, and a people person

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant field
  • Two or more years of agency experience
  • Socially conscious and able to unpack complex ideas
  • Ability to write on different subjects across a variety of sectors
  • Solutions-driven thinker
  • Must be Cape Town-based
  • Driver’s license

  • Traditional Media :

  • Copywriting – press releases, op-eds, advertorials, media statements, website copy, reports, etc.
  • Media relations – building relationships, securing coverage, and interview opportunities
  • Social Media :

  • Content schedules – source and develop monthly content in line with the client’s communication objectives
  • Community management – manage client’s social media pages and respond to messages in a timely manner
  • Crisis communications – identifying and managing urgent queries
  • Client Service :

  • Ensure a strong understanding of the client’s business and insights into the industry they operate in
  • Assist in anticipating needs, solutions, and opportunities to tap into
  • Build and sustain strategic communications plans and opportunities for clients
  • Onboard and build relationships with new clients
  • Compile status, action, and monthly reports
  • Ensure monthly deliverables are met
