Purpose of the Position :

The IT Engineer is responsible for the stability and reliability of IT operations by continuously monitoring and maintaining all IT infrastructure components, including hardware, software, websites, networks, security systems, data centers, communication systems, and servers. The IT engineer will be responsible for assisting with level 2 - 4 technical support queries and escalations. Server management and network maintenance. Provide training and upskilling in various IT applications while leveraging the newest technologies to optimize our system. Driving technological innovation and empowering our workforce to harness the full potential of IT applications. The Incumbent will report to the ICT Manager

Requirements :

• The applicant must be in possession of a relevant qualification or degree in the field of
• Computer Science or Information Technology and have a minimum of 5 years’ applicable work experience
• Microsoft certification (e.g., MCSA, MCSE and MCITP)
• At least 5 years’ experience in IT Enterprise infrastructure.
• At least 5 years’ experience with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Office 365 Apps and Microsoft Azure.
• At least 5 years’ experience with Microsoft SQL and MySQL
• At least 5 years’ experience with Video Conferencing systems, including Microsoft Teams Rooms.
• At least 5 years’ experience with networking technologies such as SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, VLANS, Firewalls, MPLS, Internet
• At least 5 years’ experience with Mimecast or other Email Security platforms.
• At least 1 year’s experience with ITIL Frameworks
• At least 1 year’s experience with Cybersecurity frameworks.
• At least 1 year’s experience as a CRM administrator or similar role.
• A proven record of experience in a technically suitable IT related field.
• Knowledge of South African IT legislation.
• Knowledge of Hyper-Converged technologies.
• Knowledge of domain management and websites.
• Knowledge of current ICT technologies and trends.
• Strong understanding of permissions in SharePoint online, Active Directory and Linux libraries
• Ability to travel daily to the office.
• Strong analytical abilities, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Be proactive and plan for upcoming renewals of software and hardware.
• Understand procurement processes and assist with scoping any technical requirements.
• Project management for implementations of new IT systems.
• Apply laws, regulations, and policies.
• Provide technical guidance for ICT problems.
• Ability to perform consistently under pressure.
• Ability to negotiate with service providers.
• Work well within a team and Independently
• Be prepared to work irregular hours to respond to outages, perform system maintenance and upgrades or the implementation of new IT systems.
