Team Lead : Claims Processing (Warranties)

Job Purpose

Lead a team of Processing Claims Consultants to ensure effective validation of captured claims, ensuring individual contributors meet targets while coaching them to achieve operational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Direction

Explain the local action plan to support team members, aligning with the broader business plan and the organization’s strategy, motivating people to achieve local business goals.

  • Performance Management
  • Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve performance; monitor, allocate work, review completion, take corrective action, and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal.

  • Operations Management
  • Supervise others within operational systems, ensuring quality decisions regarding claims outcomes.

  • Operational Compliance
  • Identify instances of non‑compliance with policies and procedures, reporting and escalating issues as appropriate.

  • Data Collection & Analysis
  • Collate and analyse claims processing data using preset tools, methods, and formats; independently identify trends affecting customer experience.

  • Customer Management (Internal)
  • Assist senior colleagues in managing client and customer relationships using relevant client systems.

  • Document Management
  • Create and maintain a company‑wide document management system.

  • Administration
  • Produce, update and provide best practice support on a wide range of MS documents, databases and other departmental systems.

  • Correspondence
  • Respond to escalated requests via telephone or email (internal and external).

    Education

    Matric / Grade 12 or SAQA Accredited Equivalent (Essential); FAIS recognised qualifications / regulatory examinations / Class of Business certification and / or CPD as per DOFA (Advantageous). A relevant 3‑year business‑related degree or diploma (Advantageous).

    Experience

    3+ years in financial services, call centre environment (Essential); STI experience (Essential); 2+ years Claims Experience (Essential); 1+ year supervising and directing people to achieve specific results (Essential).
