Job Title : Retail Hardware Sales Representative (Ironmongery & Security Products)
Location : Northern Suburbs, Boland, Helderberg, Overberg and Garden Route
About the Company : We are a growing supplier of ironmongery, door hardware, and security products to retail hardware stores across South Africa. Our mission is to provide quality products, excellent service, and long-term value to our customers. We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Sales Representative with strong industry experience and established customer relationships in the retail hardware market.
Position Overview :
The Retail Sales Representative will be responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with retail hardware customers within an assigned territory. The role involves actively promoting and selling our full range of ironmongery and security products, identifying growth opportunities, and providing excellent customer service to strengthen our market presence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage strong relationships with existing hardware retail clients and identify opportunities for growth.
- Prospect and acquire new customers within the assigned region.
- Promote and sell the company’s range of ironmongery, door hardware, and security products to retailers, builders, and contractors.
- Conduct regular sales visits to customers to present new products, handle inquiries, and follow up on orders.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure timely deliveries, accurate pricing, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify new sales opportunities and report on these through the CRM platform.
- Meet or exceed monthly sales targets and other performance objectives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product features, pricing, and technical specifications.
- Prepare and submit weekly market information, sales reports and forecasts to management.
Requirements
Experience in the hardware, ironmongery, or security products industry will be advantageous.Strong existing relationships with hardware stores, distributors & construction companies in the area.Ability to perform consistently under pressureKnowledge of door hardware, locks, hinges, handles, and related security products.Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.Self-motivated, reliable, target-driven, and able to work independently.Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport is a mustProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM software will be an advantage.Key Competencies
