Job descriptionAssist the CEO with bookkeeping, reconciliations, and general accounting support Help prepare and file documents for tax and payroll submissions Maintain accurate records and assist with weekly filing of accounting documents Support accounts processing and reconciliations under guidance Learn and gradually assist with digital accounting tools (SimplePay, Dext, InfoDocs, Sage) Good administrative and organizational skills Attention to detail and accuracy Eagerness to learn and take initiative with guidance Comfortable working independently on smaller tasks while knowing when to ask for support Strong communication skills and a professional attitude Gain valuable experience in a supportive and flexible environment Work part-time, fully remote, with flexibility to balance studies or other commitments Build hands-on skills in accounting and payroll with mentorship from experienced professionals Opportunity for growth into a full-time role as the business expands
Job Title : Junior Accountant (Part-Time)
Location : Fully Remote (Office based in Strand, Cape Town)
Please note : Only candidates residing in Cape Town will be considered.

About the Role
Are you starting your career in accounting and looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity? My client is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks. This role is perfect for someone with a solid educational foundation in accounting who is eager to learn and grow while working remotely.
Qualifications
- Educational Qualification : BCom, BCompt, BAcc degree, or Diploma in Accounting (completed or in progress)
- Professional Experience : 1–2 years’ accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Technical Skills : Basic experience with accounting software such as Sage exposure to payroll systems like SimplePay is an advantage
- Tax Knowledge : Some understanding of VAT and personal tax will be helpful, but not essential (training and support available)
- Language Proficiency : Fluent in Afrikaans and English
