Purpose :
This strategic role leads sourcing (stock and non-stock), supplier partnerships and material management in a customer- centric paint manufacturing environment. The Head of Procurement ensures continuity of supply, cost optimisation and quality, while driving innovation and supplier excellence.

Strategic Procurement
Define and execute procurement strategies that align with business goals, ensure cost efficiency, resilience, agility and competitiveness.
Support production schedules and customer delivery expectations by securing reliable, timely and quality supply.
Supplier & Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong, value-driven supplier relationships that ensure quality, responsiveness and innovation.
Negotiate high-value contracts and service-level agreements.
Collaborate with production and R&D, Sales & Marketing to ensure procurement decisions enhance product performance, consistency and customer satisfaction.
Customer-Centric Procurement
Collaborate with Production, R&D, Sales and Marketing to ensure procurement decisions enhance product performance, consistency and customer satisfaction.
Risk Management and Compliance
Implement procurement policies and procedures and ethical sourcing standards.
Lead internal audits and manage procurement risks, monitor KPIs : cost avoidance, supplier performance, contract compliance.
Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions and regulatory challenges.
Ensure compliance with legal, ethical and company standards while embedding responsible and sustainable sourcing practices.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team, supervising managers and buyers to ensure smooth operations and delivery on performance targets.
Manage and mentor procurement professionals across categories, champion cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing Foster a culture of agility, accountability, innovation and continuous improvement that empowers people to perform at their best.
Process & Technology Optimisation
Leverage procurement technologies and digital tools to improve visibility, enhance decision-making and strengthen data driven insights.
Simplify and standardize procurement processes to reduce complexity, cut waste and enable greater agility.
Budget & Cost Optimisation
Monitor and control procurement spending, eliminate inefficiencies and unlock long-term value through smarter sourcing and local alternatives.
Align procurement budgets with business priorities and future requirements.
Sustainability & ESG
Lead transformation initiatives (e.g, digitization, supplier diversity, ESG compliance)
Support the companys environmental and social responsibility goals through ethical, sustainable and future-focused sourcing, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.
Educational Qualifications & Personal Attributes :
Diploma or Degree qualified CIPS certification desirable.
Minimum 10 years of procurement experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role within manufacturing or chemical industries.
Proven experience in sourcing raw material for paint or similar chemical products.
Strong negotiation, analytical and contract management skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and procurement analytics tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
