Procurement Manager (Solar PV) - 2 year contract

Our Client

Our client is a global (EPC) company specializing in hydropower and renewable energy ventures worldwide. They boast a portfolio of over 3GW in installed solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity. Their current undertaking is a 240MW solar PV project scheduled to commence in May, situated in the Free State region. They are building out their team in Cape Town and are looking for a Procurement Manager. 2 year contract.

CANDIDATES MUST COME FROM A SOLAR PV BACKGROUND.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the company's goals and objectives in the solar industry.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships with vendors.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor market trends, conduct cost analysis, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers and engineers, to ensure procurement needs are met.
• Drive and develop project Bill of Quantities (BOQ) in conjunction with the Engineering Department.
• Handover project procurement list (BOQ) to the Project Management Department.
• Manage and mentor a team of procurement professionals to achieve departmental objectives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
• Implement and maintain procurement software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
