The Claims Specialist / Consultant will be responsible for the end-to-end management of Binder claims across a designated portfolio of brokers. Operating within the branch mandate and adhering to Hollard’s established claims standards, this role plays a critical part in driving departmental productivity, maintaining service excellence, and upholding the company’s reputation. The incumbent will ensure technical accuracy in claims settlement, foster strong stakeholder relationships, and contribute meaningfully to Hollard’s growth and profitabilityKey Responsibities :
Claims Evaluation & Investigation : Apply technical expertise to assess and investigate claims thoroughly, minimizing financial leakage and ensuring accurate settlements.Customer Service Excellence : Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external clients in line with service level agreements and Hollard’s quality standards.Broker Support & Engagement : Provide brokers with technical guidance, training, and support beyond routine claims processing to strengthen partnerships.Professional Communication : Ensure timely and professional communication with all stakeholders, responding to queries within 24 hours.Claims Registration : Register all incoming claims within 24 hours of receipt to maintain operational efficiency.Rejection Letter Review : Draft and finalize rejection letters with precision and sensitivity, ensuring compliance and clarity.Dispute Resolution : Manage claims disputes effectively, ensuring fair outcomes and maintaining stakeholder trust.Broker Relationship Management : Conduct broker visits and maintain strong, collaborative relationships to support business objectives.Claims Reporting & Analysis : Compile and present accurate claims reports to inform decision-making and performance tracking.Estimate Oversight : Monitor and manage claim estimates to ensure financial accuracy and control.Required Knowledge and Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior commercial claims roleIn-depth knowledge of Commercial & Personal insurance productsStrong understanding of claims procedures and insurance terminologyFamiliarity with relevant legislation (Prescription Act, Insurance Act, FAIS)Ability to interpret policy wording and assess underwriting implicationsBasic risk assessment capabilities, including assessor appointmentFoundational understanding of reinsurance and treaty structuresSolid product knowledge across insurance linesFinancial acumen related to estimates, premiums, and co-insuranceFAIS compliance certificationEducational Requirements :
Insurance qualification NQF 5 or equivalent advantageousRE 5Deadline : 24th August,2025
