The purpose of the role and its primary objective is to lead and coach a DevSecOps team, foster a culture of continuous improvement, provide technical guidance, and optimise pipelines for continuous integration and deployment. The hands-on team lead collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure platform reliability and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage an effective, skilled team with succession planning, providing technical leadership
- Manage performance by clearly defining goals, providing direction, coaching and regular feedback
- Participate in agile practices and ceremonies, including the Quarterly Business Review
- Ensure scalable, secure and stable environments for the platform
- Liaise with external contracted suppliers to implement solutions according to an agreed roadmap
- Maintain ongoing application and infrastructure maintenance, upgrades and renewals to ensure platform availability (on prem and cloud)
- Drive and maintain a favourable security posture, addressing vulnerabilities
- Embed quality assurance principles and define DevSecOps quality frameworks and standards
- Ensure disaster recovery and high availability, including successful failover during DR tests (on premises and cloud)
- Optimize cloud usage and drive cost efficiencies
- Perform script maintenance and updates as requirements change
- Set up and maintain test environments for manual and automated testing
- Participate in sizing, setup, monitoring and maintenance of infrastructure
- Develop and optimise CI / CD pipelines to support seamless software delivery
- Ensure compliance with statutory, policy and governance requirements relevant to accountability
- Build relationships to manage expectations, share knowledge, and enable aligned delivery
- Initiate stakeholder engagements to track progress and deliver stakeholders\' requirements
- Research and enable improvements and opportunities to leverage technology and platform enablement
Qualifications
Any relevant qualificationExperience And Skills
7 to 10 years’ experience in a similar environment, including 1 to 2 years in junior managementProven experience in leading, implementing and supporting Financial Markets systemsStrong knowledge of DevSecOps tools and methodologiesWorking knowledge of IT security principlesMinimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft AzureAZ-104 certification; AZ-305 would be advantageousExperience with version control tools like Git, BitbucketExperience with provisioning and operating CI / CD tools (Azure or Jenkins / TeamCity)Operating systems : Windows Server, RHELPlatforms : AKS, OpenShift (advantageous)Experience with Tomcat, WildFlyDatabases : PostgreSQL, DB / 2, MS-SQL Server, MongoDB; working SQL knowledgeWorking knowledge and experience with DockerYou Will Have Access To
