Sales Executive Job Description
The Sales Executive is responsible for prospecting new business opportunities through area and business reviews, telephonic contact, and cold calling. They qualify potential clients based on requirements such as volumes, distribution areas, cargo types, and current providers, then submit these to the Sales Manager for consideration in the form of a sales filter.
The role involves developing and updating knowledge of our own and competitors' service offerings, gathering market intelligence on freight service opportunities and competitor activities, and reporting accordingly.
The Sales Executive must determine customer needs, demonstrate Triton’s services to meet those needs, and add value to their business. They are responsible for formally presenting business proposals, negotiating prices and credit terms, and continuously improving marketing strategies.
Additional responsibilities include planning, organizing, following up, and communicating progress to clients effectively; inputting work to optimize the operations department; updating leads to PENTAGON; managing PENTAGON system and processes effectively; handling client inquiries, queries, and problems, facilitating resolutions; conducting monthly and weekly service call visits; identifying and capitalizing on service or sale extension opportunities; advising on rate increases and procedural changes; building client relationships at all levels; monitoring client activity; ensuring sales information is detailed and accurate; generating quotes; preparing and submitting weekly new business reports; monitoring credit applications; preparing proposals for Sales Manager’s approval; and ensuring measures are in place to guarantee customer satisfaction.
