Job Description
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will be responsible for leading a team of Professional Sales Representatives, achieving territory sales targets, coaching and supporting the sales team, and executing strategic sales plans in line with the company’s goals.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Performance Management : Lead and manage a team of Professional Sales Representatives to meet territory sales targets, SFE and call objectives; align team activities with marketing and organizational goals.
- Sales Target Achievement : Maintain the sales function across the allocated territory to ensure targets are achieved; conduct daily field visits to coach and guide the sales team.
- Event Coordination & Representation : Support planning and execution of divisional initiatives (conferences, speaker programs, promotional events) regionally and nationally.
- Strategic Implementation : Develop and execute strategic sales action plans aligned with marketing and sales plans; ensure measurable outcomes.
- Client Engagement : Engage with key stakeholders (General Practitioners, Specialists, Pharmacists) as identified with the KAM and National Sales Manager to drive business performance.
- Client Database Management : Maintain an up-to-date database of targeted clients within the territory.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with the KAM and National Sales Manager to identify and capitalize on regional opportunities.
- Business Review Presentations : Build and present monthly and quarterly RSM reviews at the executive level.
Qualifications
Educational qualification : A graduate degree in any Science stream.Minimum work experience : 5-8 years in Sales & Marketing, with at least 3 years as Regional Sales Manager; strong Neuroscience experience mandatory.Skills & attributes : Excellent communication, coaching ability, data-driven decision making, relationship-building, and the ability to work autonomously or in a fast-paced team.Technical Skills : In-depth understanding of the SA pharmaceutical industry, product and disease knowledge (Neurology / Neuroscience), sales forecasting, data analysis, regulatory guidelines.Behavioural Skills : Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and collaboration.Educational Details
