An established and innovative manufacturing company specializing in high-quality plastic packaging products for the FMCG market is looking for a dynamic Production Manager to lead their production team. Duties & Responsibilities
As the Production Manager , you will play a key role in driving production efficiency, product quality, and operational excellence. Responsibilities include :
Production Coordination
- Implement production schedules to meet customer demand
- Monitor workflow and production processes, adjusting resources and schedules as required
- Drive continuous improvement and root cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Minimize waste and manage inventory effectively
Team & Personnel Leadership
Lead and motivate production personnel, including supervisors and assistantsConduct performance reviews, enforce discipline, and foster teamworkTrain and develop staff using hands-on and show-and-do techniquesPromote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvementQuality & Compliance
Enforce GMP and ISO 9001 standardsEnsure food safety and product quality at relevant sitesMaintain accurate production records and ensure compliance with QMSHealth & Safety
Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with company H&S standardsProactively address safety hazards and incidentsReporting & Administration
Compile and maintain accurate production and operational reportsCommunicate effectively across departments for alignment and issue resolutionDesired Experience & Qualifications
Education :
Grade 12 (Matric)HNDT in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (essential)NQF 6 in Production or Operations Management (advantageous)Experience :
Minimum of 5 years in a Production Manager role within a manufacturing / FMCG environmentExtensive knowledge and experience with injection moulding processes and machineryFamiliarity with supplier training programs is an advantageKey Competencies :
Deep understanding of plastic manufacturing and injection mouldingStrong leadership, problem-solving, and planning skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesAbility to work under pressure and manage conflict effectivelyProficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)Understanding of ISO 9001 and QMS principles
